NUESTRA HISTORIA
Second Tree es una ONG dirigida por voluntarios que trabaja con refugiados en el norte de Grecia. Nuestros fundadores se conocieron en el campo de refugiados de Katsikas. Eran voluntarios que, conmovidos por la crisis humanitaria que se desarrollaba en el 2016, decidieron dejarlo todo para crear una organización que ante todo tratase a los refugiados como seres humanos.
Su visión hizo eco en muchos otros. Desde 2017, el equipo ha acogido a 120 personas de todo el mundo que han puesto a disposición su tiempo y sus habilidades para solidarizarse con los refugiados.
Second Tree debe su nombre al proverbio:
“El mejor momento para plantar un árbol fue hace veinte años.
El segundo mejor momento es ahora”
Creemos que nunca es demasiado tarde para tomar acción y trabajar a favor de un cambio positivo en el mundo.
Nuestra misión
Cambiar la forma en que se percibe a los refugiados empleando un enfoque de participación comunitaria que fortalece la iniciativa personal y permite a cada uno exprimir su verdadero potencial.
Nuestra Visión
Nuestro objetivo es mejorar la vida de los refugiados contribuyendo a crear una sociedad en la que cada uno de ellos sea visto ante todo como un ser humano – con su propia historia, sus habilidades, intereses y necesidades – y no solo como portadores de la etiqueta de ‘refugiados’.
