If you know me, you’ll know I love doing sports, especially if it involves chasing an egg-shaped ball around a field. You’ll also know that running however, isn’t my preference nor my strong point… So, against all odds, this year I decided to challenge myself and signed up to Valencia’s Marathon (42km) to raise money for an NGO I deeply care about.
Second Tree is a grassroots NGO led entirely by volunteers. They work hard to ensure refugees in Northern Greece are provided with a basic human right, education. They do this through various activities including workshops, sports & English classes for both children & adults. I volunteered with them for a year and a half and despite having left nearly a year ago, I’ve kept close contact with their work and the people working there. Thus, I’m looking to continue supporting them; this time, raising money through my Marathon Fundraiser.
By donating to my fundraiser, you will give refugee adults and children access to the education they deserve – and the chance to unleash their full potential. Refugees are people like anyone else, deserving of a warm welcome, a safe place to live and the chance to pursue their goals!
December 4th is the big day, every cent counts!
